Warehouse/Packing Operator

Full Time 2 shifts. 6-2/2-10 across Mon-Fri

Responsibilities

To operate appropriate packaging/blending/tanker loading equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

-To carry out associated warehousing duties including the loading and unloading of vehicles on site.

-To be proactive in the control of packaging/blending and tanker loading equipment working as an individual or as a member of a team to meet daily schedule requirements.

-To carry out in process checks to ensure product packaging conformance meets set conformance targets.

-To produce timely and accurate data entry  on both computer and in manual, written logs.

-To execute all operational duties through the use of scan guns ensuring accurate data entry.

-To assist with stock check activities in the warehouse of goods and packaging.

-To maintain a high level of housekeeping standards at all times using 5S principles.

-To be fully flexible in the use of skills and competencies on their own and other plant operations.

-To liaise with tradesmen, QC, Process Technologist, logistics, etc. where necessary.

-To undertake tasks outside main area of skill and competence under TEST principles.

-To understand and ensure that site SHE and Quality policy and procedures are properly applied.

-To identify opportunities for continual improvement within SHE and Quality.

To understand departmental, SHE issues and any legal requirements relating to the area.

-To ensure risk assessments and other appropriate safety assessments are completed in advance of routine and non-routine activities.

-To ensure all maintenance activities are controlled using the site Permit to Work system at all times.

-To encourage compliance with safety health and environment rules, procedures and legislation amongst contractors and drivers.

-To undertake FLT daily checks and report problems.

-To drive FLT counterbalance and HREACH within site policies and procedures.

-To ensure correct PPE is worn at all times.

-To ensure correct disposal of waste using recycling systems where appropriate.

-To report accidents, incidents and near misses promptly using site reporting tool and assist with investigation where appropriate.

Requirements

Good communication skills to a variety of stakeholders.

Excellent packing / warehouse operation skills

Working accurately to site polices, practices and legislative requirements

Ability to proactively participate in the control of process plants in his/her plant area of responsibility.

Flexible approach with a capacity to work well and maintain performance levels under pressure.

Desirable

Experience in working in packing and warehouse areas

FLT counterbalance and HREACH licenses
