Maintenance Technician
Responsibilities
In this position, you will be primarily responsible for:
- Maintenance troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and repair of existing production equipment and utilities. Timely completion of all work orders and tasks as assigned by the maintenance supervisor, engineering manager or their delegate.
- Installs, repairs and maintains various mechanical, rotating and hydraulic equipment along with piping systems in a safe and efficient manner ensuring the plant meets its goals and objectives
Essential Functions comprise:
- Maintain a clean, orderly and safe work environment.
- Ensures the plant is compliant with all safety, health and environmental regulations.
- Maintain all process equipment in the facility. Fabricate, assemble, repair, clean and maintain equipment. These systems include but not limited to: Mills, mixers, furnace, boilers, pumps, hydraulics, ventilation, heat exchangers, filters, piping and valves.
- Machine lubrication including draining and refilling oils and coolants from machinery.
- Securing equipment and pipes, tubes, and related equipment by brazing, cementing, soldering, welding or threading joints.
- Minimizes production downtimes by ensuring there are no breakdowns and all production process are running efficiently.
- Regular inspection of equipment to identify and report defects or damages to supervisor.
- Document repairs and inspections.
- Efficiently completing all tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
- Coordinating work with fellow workers and other departments of the organization.
- Member of plant spill response and remediation team.
- Sustained kneeling, squatting, climb stairs with a 20 pound load, climbing ladders, constant hand tool use, ability to lift floor to waist up to 65 pounds, ability to lift 65 pounds waist to shoulder, push/pull cart up to 90 pounds using 50 pounds of force, shoveling 15 pounds with 10 repetitions. Work from top of tanks and structures.
- Operate man lifts and fork trucks.
- Reading, writing, mechanical and mathematical skills. Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
- Work various shift schedules including nights and weekends.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3-5 years’ experience in an industrial plant maintenance environment, preferred
- Working knowledge of electrical and PLC control systems, preferred
